Your responsibilities after payoff

Watch for an email.

You’ll receive an email about next steps you still need to take. When everything is complete, we’ll send a final payoff letter.

Confirm your address.

Because we’ll be sending important final documents through the mail, make sure your most recent address is on file with us.

Cancel autopay.

You’ll need to cancel any automatic payments set up with another financial institution.

U.S. Bank responsibilities after payoff

We’ll cancel autopay if it’s set up with us.

If you are enrolled in U.S. Bank autopay for this loan, we’ll cancel that service on your behalf.

Reflect your current balance.

In most cases, your online balance will reflect your final payment one business day after we receive payoff funds. It may take up to 30 days to close the account.

Get the lien released.

We’ll handle getting the lien released from the state in which it was recorded. You can find more about the process in this article.
