Meet the Tennessee wholesaler filling the shelves of Hispanic supermarkets

September 28, 2023

Cortes Distributors sells more than 1,500 products, from adobo seasoning to Salvadoran bread, available in grocery stores

John Cortes, CEO of Hispanic food distribution company Cortes Distributors, knows his bread.

"Every country has its different bread," he said while touring his company's 40,000-square-foot warehouse in Nashville. "The Honduran people like a hard bread. The Salvadoran people prefer something soft."

That kind of customer savvy is what has helped fuel the company's growth. Cortes distributes its nearly 1,500 products, sold under brand names La Finca and Refreshing Fruit, to Hispanic grocery stores in six states. To hear more about Cortes' story, check out the video above.
