No, an account or partnership with us is not necessary to participate.
The GTS program benefits both you and your employees.
HR representatives will no longer need to:
- Facilitate the opening of payroll accounts for expatriates.
- Address questions related to individual bank accounts.
- Manage individual account-related documents after the expatriate returns to Japan.
Expatriate employees can:
- Open an account from Japan: The employee can open their account from Japan even without a Social Security Number (SSN) and receive a debit card and PIN number while in Japan. They can make deposits before leaving and then withdraw funds once they arrive in the U.S.
- Bank easily in the U.S.: GTS clients will enjoy a waived monthly maintenance fee1, secure online and mobile banking and free access to the Japanese Customer Service Unit (JCSU).
- Manage the account after returning home: GTS clients can continue to get account help via a toll-free number for the JCSU. They can also check their account status via online banking.
