Mortgage modification know before you sign. View instructions to accurately complete your modification documents. (SPEECH) SPEAKER: Congratulations, you've qualified for mortgage assistance. There are a few steps left to finalize your agreement and it's important you understand what they are. In order to finalize your mortgage assistance option, please ensure the following. All signatures, including the notary, must occur on the same day. All parties, including the notary, must sign both copies of documents. Be sure to only use black ink when signing documents. All signatures must match exactly as they are printed within the document. There should be no additional writing within the modification documents, outside of the required signing sections. Any cross-outs, edits, or rewrites will not be accepted. For additional detail, please review the instructions included with your document package. Please pay special attention to the instructions if any of the following scenarios apply to you-- if you're signing the documents as a power of attorney, if one of the original co-borrowers is deceased, or if the vested owners are divorced or legally separated. In the instructions, you'll also find specific instructions for the notary public. Once you've signed your documents, double-check your work. Make sure all signatures are completed by all required parties, including the notary. The date used at the time of signing should be the same for all parties. Finally, the notary information should be legible and not overlap any other verbiage or signatures. Most importantly, don't delay. If we don't receive both copies of the complete agreement by the date noted in the document, we may be unable to move forward with the request for assistance. And the account may become ineligible.
